My boys have attended William and Reed for the past two years and we are so pleased with the school! The staff and teachers have been supportive and kind, even when handling disciplinary issues. The inclusive atmosphere has allowed my sons, who had never been interested in school-sponsored extracurriculars, to get really involved. They have tried so many new things and grown through them. And because the school is small, students make friends in all grades. My two have many of the same friends, which has brought them closer together. I highly recommend William and Reed! I only wish we'd come there sooner.

The Grices unequivocally endorse William & Reed Academy. Our son McCord initially attended Marist High School for his freshman and sophomore years. But he also plays golf at a national level and we were discovering that he was the only serious junior golfer in the metro area that attended a 5-day, 8:00 to 3:30 high school. In other words, he was at a competitive disadvantage amongst his peers. So we searched for an education solution that gave him more time to practice but still provided excellent academics (you know, just in case that pro tour thing doesn`t work out). We found that solution with William & Reed. Beyond its rigorous and broad academic offerings and flexibility in schedule, three things stood out for us and set W&R apart. First, the teachers at W&R care. We have never seen a set of teachers take such an interest in both the academic and personal growth of their students. And, with such a small class size, they were able to give McCord support, both in the classroom and in real life. These teachers were more than just subject-matter teachers to McCord. Second, while it had an abbreviated class day schedule, W&R still felt like a community. This is not a school where students wander in and out of the building doing their own thing solely as individuals. Even though many students pursue individual interests, there is still a feeling within the halls of a traditional campus and community. Finally, it is said that the quality of every house starts with its foundation. And here, the foundation of W&R`s house is its headmaster, Hunter Cluthe. Hunter is so full of positive energy and vibe. Every time we met with him, no matter the topic, we were energized and supportive! And that energy permeates the halls of W&R and positively affects both the teachers and the students. He serves as the foundation as to why the teachers are so engaged and why there is such a community feeling within the building.McCord is off to play golf on a scholarship at the University of Wisconsin in the fall--his dream school and one of the world`s great universities including one with substantial academic rigor and requirements. William & Reed Academy, and its headmaster and teachers, made the fulfillment of that dream possible and have given McCord the foundation to be successful at college and in life. I cannot say enough good things about W&R Academy. It is a truly different alternative to other schools. So many kids are stressed out trying to keep up with the Joneses with AP classes and pulling all-nighters studying. W&R recognizes that education consists of many things besides just book knowledge. W&R has found a good life balance that allows the students to receive an excellent quality education and also have time to experience life to learn the lessons that cannot be taught in books. AP courses are offered, but aren`t pushed like they are at some other schools. On the last day of school before graduation, my son had tears in his eyes and could only say "I wish I had been at this school longer". He scored well on the standardized tests, got into the college of his choice in their honors program, and received several academic scholarships. In short, he is well-prepared for higher education and for life in general.

William & Reed has been excellent for my children. The teachers are fantastic and care about their students. This small school provides an excellent learning environment. Even during Covid, safe in person instruction continues. My daughter who graduated from W&R is doing very well in college now and is grateful for the rigor she received here. William & Reed is perfect for the student who desires to learn, yet without all the "other stuff" that goes on in middle school and high school. Hence the short school daytime spent mainly on the core classes needed for graduation. They provide plenty of AP courses to choose from as well. The college counseling and the college preparedness the high school students receive here is invaluable. If your student has a desire to learn and feels as though they are wasting time in public school all day, this is the school for you. The price is lower than most private schools in the area. And because of how well my children are prepared for college, it's worth every cent!

William & Reed Academy is a great and affordable private school. Our son did his Middle and High school at William and Reed. He was there for seven years. He loved his school and the teachers. He used to play USTA tournaments, and the compact school schedule allowed him to pursue his tennis without compromising on having a quality education. W&R has very dedicated teachers who provide top-notch education to all students. The small size of classes allows the teachers to provide individual attention to each kid. Our son has benefited from this personalized attention. Mr. Cluthe runs the school professionally and makes sure the school provides a fun, happy, and safe environment for all students to thrive and learn. We highly recommend this school to all parents looking for an affordable and quality private school for their kids.

Small class sizes and engaged teachers make this a perfect alternative to the large public school and even private school factories. Hunter and team have developed a great model to bring high quality instruction and personalized attention to kids that may not get what they need in the larger schools. They are flexible and work with kids' different learning styles to enable them to be academically successful. Happy to have found this school.

We have had a great experience at William and Reed. Our daughter has had great results because of the caring teachers and small classroom size. I would highly recommend this school to anyone looking for a superior education with a flexiable schedule.

We, as parents, believe its import to be able to connect and communicate easily with our child's teachers and the school administrators in a productive way - you get that at W & R! The smaller class sizes means the teachers actually get to know the students (and families) and get to make real connections with them. The administration takes an active interest in the students, their issues, interests, and problems. Our children still need guidance in this new stage of independence and often don't want it from us, they get it here at W & R. As a parent of two children coming from a small school background, this is the perfect fit for bridging into the big world.

William & Reed Academy has exceeded all of our expectations as a private school for children in grades 6-12. This school is inclusive and maintains a student body with a wide array of interests and talents. William & Reed`s approach to learning with face-to-face and online classes prepares this generation`s students for the future. The innovative scheduling and wide array of class keeps students engaged and challenged. The school is fully accredited and the staff`s credentials are impeccable. This up and coming private school recognizes that each student is an individual and treats them as such. The kind and personable atmosphere is beyond welcoming. As progressive as this school is, they have also incorporated the traditional basics with honors and AP classes, athletics, foreign language, student counsel, a yearbook committee and much, much more. The convenient location and transportation options make this school a must see for those who need to consider after school logistics. The staff routinely queries parents and students for their input and arranges unique and exciting field trips and off campus learning activities. A big thank you to Hunter Reed Cluthe, Head of School, for his educational passion, kind heart and for making education what it should be!

I highly recommend this school! Excellent teachers, small class size, individual attention...love it! My son cam here after two years at a highly rated public school. He hated school, was depressed and unmotivated. After this year, I see his self-confidence coming back. He is interested in what he is learning and is respected by his instructors. He doesn't want to miss a day of school because he knows he'll be missing something (and now he cares!) Worth every penny.
