The teachers and staff at the Long Ridge School truly know how to engage students in learning. Our children love the multi-age grouping in each classroom. The younger children learn from the older children and the older children learn compassion toward the younger children. The way the curriculum and schedule are designed, our (2) children are learning age-appropriate material and are never held back academically. Something my husband and I appreciate about the teaching at Long Ridge is that they will recognize when a child can be pushed further along in their learning. At the same time, the teachers also pay close attention to how each child is learning, academically, socially, and emotionally and are always there to provide support and strategies as needed. As a parent, I appreciate the teachers being accessible and supportive to our children when they have questions or concerns. Activities and classes are set up during the day so that children from all age groups come together for plenty of social interaction. There is a wonderful sense of community among the teachers, staff, and students.

Our children LOVE LRS. Their Beginners and Nursery programs have access to many of the amazing specialists (science, music, art, PE, library, and Spanish) that the elementary students have and the most dedicated, nurturing and inspiring teachers. The school has a "just right" feel for our young kids... from the small communal lunch tables and chairs to the big outdoors to the way the teachers get down and talk with child's eye level - modeling mutual respect and caring. We value the school's commitment to diversity and the sense of community. The teachers' dedication and accessibility are exceptional and they feel like true partners. The classrooms are experiential in nature, multi age, and rotate through various themes of study so that students have a broader perspective and lots of rich context in their learning. Our children have learned lifelong skills in problem solving and collaboration and have shown self-motivation and independence. Opportunities to experiment and develop their creativity and confidence are a part of each day. We feel so fortunate they have had the chance to experience the true joy of learning at the Long Ridge School, particularly for these foundational younger years.

We moved our two children from our local public school to The Long Ridge School when they were entering third and first grades and our only regret is that we didn't make the move sooner. We were welcomed by friendly parents and students, caring teachers and accessible staff. Our kids went from dreading school to loving school and have become the very best versions of themselves. At LRS we found true elementary education experts with whom we could partner to lay the very best foundation for our children's education. The teachers know when to challenge our kids, when to push them and when to find those moments when our kids can shine - and they are always available to parents for a quick or long chat. It's the absolute perfect enviornment for the early and elementary school years and an experience that is setting the stage for happy, self-directed learners for life. It's a magical place - just what you want in an early childhood / elementary school.

We have had both of our children attend Long Ridge, from nursery school through fifth grade; each of them loved it and got their love of learning from the school. The knowledge gained there served them well after graduation. In the meantime, a great arts and athletics center has been built on the campus, it is really something to see. The teachers are wonderful and make Long Ridge a special place.

The Long Ridge School is a gem. The classes are small, enabling teachers to address various learning styles. The students learn by doing ("hands on") in theme-driven interdisciplinary lessons. The teachers are warm, nurturing and very experienced. The students learn to love learning and do exceptionally well upon graduation.

Our children have thrived at this exceptional elementary school. The teaching staff is highly skilled, and over 75% of them have advanced degrees in their areas of expertise. There is a librarian, two learning specialitsts, as well as specialists in music, science, Spanish and PE. The campus facilities are beautiful, are anchored by a modern arts and athletics building and are designed to support the hands on approach to leaneeinfm
