March 5, 2010
Dear Parents and Friends,
We have been “blessed” with a contagious virus for the past two weeks that brings fever, congestion, and general discomfort, causing both students and teachers to miss school. Let’s hope the weekend away from each other contains the germs, and we can begin the 4th quarter with full enrollment.
The third quarter ends today, and we will begin our final quarter of the school year on Monday. Teachers will be preparing report cards to go home next Friday, and they will be outlining with students what to expect during the final months of the school year. As always, time moves quickly. The only thing that seems slow to me is the ending of the cold temperatures. It sounds like we are in for a pleasant change, which we all need. It will be nice to have the students outside playing without worrying about bundling up and staying out of the mud!
Thanks to everyone who supported our recent Dairy Queen night. We received a check for $300.30!! This money helps build our technology fund, which is always being tapped for routine supplies and upgrades. It was a great night of visiting with each other, of enjoying good food without having to cook it, and helping our school. Thanks again!
Our canned food drive for the months of March and April has begun, when we collect items for our CESNA food pantry in conjunction with the Feinstein Challenge. Please remember our less fortunate brothers and sisters when you do your grocery shopping, and pick up an extra can of your favorite food for them!
