School Notes

  • The Covenant Classical Academy approach to education is based upon an ancient method called The Trivium. This method is the 3-part process of training in grammar, dialectic, and rhetoric; at the same time, The Trivium imparts the basic skills of math, logic, and language. Our aim is to teach our children within the context of a covenant community a community of God`s people, bonded together by His love for us and our love for one another. Thus, bound to serve Him and each other, we fulfill the covenant responsibility our Lord gives to us in His great commission.

We love Covenant Classical Academy! The classical model, Christ-centered atmosphere and an education that is focused on our child's academic gain and his character has been a blessing to us. We have found CCA to be the best educational option for our family. And its affordable! Plus, the teachers are amazing!

We are new to classical education but have absolutely loved it! CCA has small classes so parents can connect to the teachers. They also have an amazing education as my son has grown tremendously in his understanding and knowledge as just a first grader. If you're looking for a school that offers a great education, a focus on Christ, and a connection to the teachers, CCA is perfect!

CCA has been an amazing school for our 6 year old. This is his second year at the school. He started last year in half day kindergarten, and has learned so much! He can write in cursive, recite phonograms, animal facts, historical facts, and math facts, and sing classical hymns. He really enjoys going, and seems to thrive in his class of 10. Not only does he come home sharing the factual information he has learned, he also shares the character-forming truths he is learning like, "Leave it better than you found it". We couldn`t be happier with his progress and the care and dedication of his teachers and administrators. We love this school!

Our family has been at CCA since our son entered kindergarten in 2014. It's been a huge benefit for him to have started his education here from the get go! In these years, he's developed SUCH a love of learning! Not only from an educational standpoint, but a moral one as well.CCA's teaching methods have made learning so much fun for him (eg: songs & jingles, hands on learning, individual attention etc.). After 5 years here, the cumulative effect shows! Sometimes I think he's learning, without even knowing he's learning :)Prior to knowing of CCA, in 2003, our daughter entered kindergarten & had attended a couple other classical schools in Louisville over the years. Hands down! I wish I would have discovered CCA first! They're definitely set apart in ways that are most important to our family. CCA's enviornment is a blessing to be in! Anytime I've come to school & at any given point in time, I've observed the students all be good friends to one another! They take care of one another. CCA is just extended family to many here, i believe. CCA genuinely invests in each individual student & it shows! Our family's very grateful for this gem of a school! In our household, we put a high priority in rearing children in the way they should go. CCA's such a blessing to have come alongside! Undoubtedly, CCA truly lives out their mission " To assist parents in cultivating within students a love for what is true, good, and beautiful so that they may impact their culture for God's glory. "

The is our family's second year at CCA and we could not be happier. We have children in three different grades and are constantly amazed at the level of education that they are receiving. The classical approach supported by the Christian ideals is an unparalleled method of education. This mixed with a strong faculty makes CCA a truly special place.

We are very pleased to have our daughter enrolled at Covenant Classical Academy. Small class sizes mean personalized attention, which has really served our daughter when she had struggled with difficult concepts. The classrooms are well managed and the teachers engender a positive and encouraging atmosphere, well-suited for young minds! Highly recommended.

My grandson attends Covenant and the difference this school is making in him is obvious. The faculty and staff are there for the kids, challenging and motivating them to be their best. The fundamental education they are receiving will be invaluable as they progress thru their educational years and far beyond. This school should be on your short list if providing an superior education is one of your priorities for your children.

When our children were toddlers my husband and I began talking seriously about what we wanted their education to look like. We both wanted a rigorous, Christ-centered education, that pushes our children to understand and love God more deeply as they learn about Him through all areas of study. We started the journey of educating our children by homeschooling for a few years. While there are many things we loved about homeschooling, we knew that our children would benefit from being in a school environment. After comparing local schools we decided that Covenant Classical Academy was the best by far! Through our research, we discovered that many classical schools are mainly focused on test scores and academic achievement. While those elements are important to us, we also know that the development of a child's character is paramount. CCA is truly the best of all worlds! Our children are challenged academically and test far above their peers in the community, but more importantly, they are in an environment that fosters a love of virtue, development of Christ-like character, and focuses all areas of study on the One who created the world and everything in it!

This is our third year at CCA and love it. We can`t imagine sending our kids anywhere else. The teachers are extremely dedicated not only to the children`s education, but their character development. Our kids love school and are developing a hunger for learning. We highly recommend CCA.

Covenant Classical Academy might be the only full time Christian school in Louisville that uses the classical education model based on the Trivium. The quality of education here is excellent. Like other parent reviews have pointed out, CCA students achieve good marks on national tests of academic standards. But CCA also teaches students how to understand the world, leave things better than you found them, and treat people with kindness and respect.

All 5 of my children attended CCA and are now adults who are using the skills and knowledge learned at CCA. We have been blessed to be a part of CCA for many years. If you are looking for a place that teaches children and young adults to think and be life long learners, look no further.

This is our third year at CCA and we love it! The teachers and administrators care and give special attention to the needs and spiritual well being of each student. Academic standards are high without being unreasonable. They have a great balance of challenging our boys and still letting them be kids. There is almost no homework in the elementary grades. Kids have a safe place to develop their minds and build great friendships.

CCA is by far the finest school I could recommend in every area. Their teaching is centered on a challenging yet rewarding classical education with a consistent focus on Christ. I would highly encourage any parent to give CCA serious consideration. If you have any concerns feel free to call me (Mike) at (270) 300-1571 and I will be happy to share some of my positive experiences with the students and faculty.

As a mother of an elementary and a high school student I cannot say enough good things about "our" school. If you are looking for a small school where your child will be treated as part of a family, where teachers actually care about your child, where children not only learn academics but also strong leadership and life skills. Then CCA is the school for you. Your child will be challenged to not only learn academics but they actually learn how to think and apply what they have learned.

Cannot ask for more from a school. Very challenging academically with a dedicated staff that cares about developing the whole child with a Christian worldview foundation. We have been very pleased with the results.

My child is a 3rd grade student, and has been at CCA since Kindergarten. I am continually amazed at what he has learned, and how high ranks in education each year on a national scale. Most importantly, his education is completely Christ-centered, as he is taught how to see God in all his studies. In fact, when he was taught that he was created by God and for His glory alone in the first week of Kindergarten, what more could you possibly ask for?
