After trying my daughter in Catholic and then public schools we knew we had to make yet another change. She has an expressive and receptive language disorder which made it very difficult for her to keep up with the pace of those schools. After looking at nearly every private school in Louisville and thinking we found the answer we later found out that her IQ score was not high enough for that particular School to admit her. Desperate for a solution we were told about AIE by her pediatrician. It was truly an answered prayer. She has been there now for 6 years and it has been nothing short of amazing. She has done great since moving her here. I would highly recommend this school for any parent of any child, whether they have any kind of issues or not. It is a very welcoming atmosphere where you know your child and their success is truly cared about.

We have been part of the AIE family for over 30 years. My children attended, and now my grandchildren attend. The staff and atmosphere are so loving and caring, you can't help but feel your child is indeed loved and cared for as a family member and not just another body to get through the system. Times are challenging now, and uncertain for everyone, but I will do everything possible to keep them here until they graduate. I'm hoping my great-grandchildren will be generation #3 to participate in this school.

My daughter struggled in a Catholic school for years. Her confidence was non-existent and homework was an all out war each night. We had her tested for ADHD but she was only diagnosed as " learning differently". Her school didn't know how to help with such a vague diagnosis. Desperate, I went to a meeting for prospective families and everything Mr. Savage had to say described my daughter to a tee! I knew this was what my daughter needed. She has been there 3 years now, and she LOVES it! She loves learning- finally! She loves to spout off facts that she has learned, loves that she can name all the President of the United States and I cannot. AIE has given her back her confidence. She is actually excited to go to school each day. This school and its staff have done wonders for my daughter and I can not thank them enough!

AIE is a spectacular school for my child. Mr. Savage and his teachers work so hard to help the students reach their full potential. AIE teaches accountability and respect to all the students.

When we interviewed AIE as a potential environment to help educate and raise our son, we knew that we wanted exactly what we hadn't been getting in the public school environment. We wanted him to be educated and challenged based on who God created him to be, rather than being expected to act and perform like the standards set by the public school system. What we actually got by making the choice to enroll in AIE, was far better than I expected. He has an extended family who have kept his very best interest in mind from the day he entered the school. Believe me, he has provided them with many "opportunities" to show us who they really are at their Core. You can believe every single word you read when visiting their website, and every word you hear if you have an opportunity to visit the school. He is receiving a great education and is learning everything he will need to excel in whatever career he chooses for the future. Until next year when he begins Highschool he isn't required to complete homework, instead we are encouraged to provide opportunities for personal growth through REAL WORLD / REAL-LIFE experiences and time with family. They understand that in the evenings there are many opportunities for personal growth found by helping the family, helping neighbors, cooking meals, playing games together, or being involved in a team activity. Although they are a small private school, they do provide great options for extra-curricular activities through sports clubs like baseball, basketball, & archery; along with opportunities to become involved in school plays, and musical programs. For us, the most important lessons our 14-year-old is learning, is true accountability, he's being taught how to develop healthy relationships, how to communicate effectively so that people will hear and understand his message, how to respect and understand the perspectives and differences in others, and what it feels like to have teachers and staff genuinely invested in your future working hard to help you become the very best version of yourself. I will never be able to say enough. I encourage you to learn more about AIE before choosing the path for your child's future. I believe you will find our story is simply one example of many others like it.

This school is Awesome! I have a 1st grader and we have been with the AIE family for 3yrs. I say family because everyone at that school from the principal, and teachers, to the staff and students treat everyone like family. With respect, integrity, and most of all compassion. Everyone is included, mainstream. No division because of ability. My son has really excelled at this school, from the small classes to the teacher-student ratio. This school is like no other. We love it here!!

My daughter started AIE in 2nd grade when we moved to Louisville. It was close to our home and had a unique approach to education putting family life and parent involvement first above homework. My daughter has always been a bright girl who quickly picks up things easily. She seamed bored in public school so we thought we`d give AIE an opportunity. She is now in High School and can`t imagine going to school anywhere else. She socializes well with her peers and can compete toe-one academically with students from other schools, both private and public. Our favorite aspect of the school is the student-to-teacher ratio and method of instruction. The students are challenged to reach their full potential, which shows in the quality of knowledge my daughter brings home every day. The school is not different from other schools with regards to students with discipline problems and a variety of backgrounds- but the teachers take a personal interest in helping all the students, regardless of their challenges. If you're looking for a school which encourages competition and accolades, this is not the school. If you are looking for a school that teaches your child how to be independent thinkers, compassionate about their world and others and well-rounded citizens? AIE is a great place to start!

My daughter struggles with many things in her life and we have tried several schools and none have felt quiet right. Once we came across AIE we knew this was where she needed to be. Everyone in this school from administration, to teachers, to the kids treat each other like they are a part of your family. We felt so passionate about what they are doing with our daughter that we moved our son from parochial schools and placed him at AIE, and he has excelled. The environment is one of inclusion, understanding, and love. I never thought that I would be able to have all my children, both typically developing and delayed, in the same school and have this feeling of complete peace every time I drop them off for school. Many people have a misunderstanding that AIE is a place for children with learning disabilities or other challenges, and I thought this as well at first, but have now learned that Academy is a school for kids, not special kids, not typical kids, but all kids. True they do facilitate the needs of many students that have fallen behind in some ways, but above that I now feel that they give the typical boys and girls that attend, the large majority, a sense of compassion, understanding, and caring that most schools these days fail to provide. They allow the children with more needs, like my daughter, to grow and develop to her fullest potential, whatever that may be, in an environment that is not judgmental nor pitiful but rather is done by building them up and letting them know they are apart of the school family as much as anyone else. I now feel more important than even that they also allow the typical child, like my son, to learn in a way that is a little different, and very effective, while at the same time teaching him that it doesn't matter how much money one has, or if they learn more slowly than you, or if they look different, but all that matters is treating everyone with respect and kindness. These are the things that these kids will have with them for the rest of their lives that few places give our kids. Anyone reading this I encourage you to have an open mind and know that the people that operate this school do so because they are passionate about what they do and they care about every kid there. If you are looking for a school that is just like every other one this is not for you, but if you are looking for a place to send your child to make them not just a good student but a good person then I assure you there is no place better than AIE.

I cannot say enough "GOOD" about this school. My daugther is hearing impaired (cochlear implant) and began attending AIE in the 2011-2012 school year. AMAZING! My daughter LOVES school and is thriving at AIE. The small class sizes and loving, caring environment have enriched not only my daughter's experience--our whole family is smitten. I can honestly say that even if I was a millionaire and could afford to send my daughter anywhere...I would still want her to attend AIE.

We wanted our daughter to attend a private school and after several years of struggling in the Catholic school system, we found AIE. The small classroom sizes are extremely beneficial for children seeking attention. Each child is given individual attention and are encouraged to work at or above potential. The integration of learning disorder children and average students is a plus. This environment teaches children to tolerate those with less abilities as well as utilize the average students as role models. The staff is capable of handling any and all situations. It is apparent they care for each and every student. Not many schools can say they know each and every student by name as well as their parent(s) name.

My son has just blossomed since starting in AIE 2 1/2 years ago. The staff is really knowledgeable and caring. They know how to teach so the children actually LEARN and not just remember stuff enough to take a test and forget it after. My son has Aspergers and I never thought he'd be able to play on any sports team, but EVERY child is welcomed on the teams and skill development and helping each other is emphasized over winning. I only wish I'd found this school when my son was just starting school and not starting 4th grade.
